Why the aircon stops cooling
Aircon not cold while the fan is still blowing usually points to one of three problems: dirt packed into the indoor coil, low gas from a leak, or an electrical part that has failed. Each needs a different fix. That is why we measure first and recommend after.
Common causes and what we do
1. Dirty coil or blower
Dust and slime build up on the indoor coil and the blower wheel until air struggles to pass through. In humid KL homes this is a common cause. The air comes out lukewarm, and there is often a musty smell too.
What we do: an aircon chemical wash. The indoor unit is partly dismantled so the coil can be soaked and flushed.
2. Low gas from a leak
Gas is not used up, so a low level almost always means a leak somewhere in the system. The aircond may blow warm air, or ice may form on the copper pipes or the coil.

3. Electrical or compressor fault
If a sensor or the control board fails, or the compressor itself, the cooling cycle breaks down and the unit may cut off early. Flashing error lights are a typical sign. So is a compressor that stops while the fan keeps going.
What we do: aircon repair. We test the parts, find the one that failed and replace it.
How our technicians find the cause
We start by measuring how much the air cools on its way through the unit. Then we open the indoor unit to look at the coil and blower. Gauges show the gas pressure, and a meter tells us whether the compressor and the electrical parts are working. The fix depends on what those checks show, and you get the price before any work starts.

What we see on not-cold jobs in Kuala Lumpur
- Condos in Mont Kiara and Bangsar: over 70% of the not-cold jobs we handle there turn out to be dirt inside the unit, not a gas leak.
- Bangsar high-rises: units that run every day often have coils so clogged that the air barely cools until the inside is cleaned.
- Landed homes in Cheras and Ampang: here a not-cold complaint is more often a slow gas leak combined with overdue servicing. Once the leak is found and repaired and the gas is topped up, most units cool again without a new compressor.
