Aircon chemical wash in Kuala Lumpur is the deep clean for an indoor unit that ordinary servicing cannot fix. The unit is partly dismantled, and the evaporator coil, the blower fan and the drain pan are treated with coil chemical, soaked and flushed. What’s included in an aircon chemical wash

The indoor unit is opened up, and its inner parts are treated, soaked and flushed:

• Inspecting the indoor unit and removing the covers safely

• Washing and sanitising the drain pan
• Flushing the drain path so it does not clog and drip

Why this is deeper than a normal service

A routine service cleans the surfaces you can reach. A chemical wash takes the indoor unit partly apart, treats the coil with chemical and cleans the blower fan itself, not only the coil surface. It is the job for mould (the black “jelly” many KL owners find on the blower), a smell that keeps coming back, and units that have gone so long without cleaning that a normal service no longer helps. When you need an aircond chemical wash

Book a chemical wash when a routine clean has not fixed the problem. These signs usually mean dirt deep inside the unit:

• A musty or sour smell when the aircond runs, even after a normal service. That is often mould or bacteria smell.
• Weak cooling even at a low temperature setting
• Weak or uneven airflow because the coil or the blower is clogged

• No deep clean for 6 months or more of daily use in KL humidity

When a chemical wash is not enough

A chemical wash fixes cooling and smell problems caused by dirt. If the unit is clean and still faulty, the cause is mechanical or electrical, and that is a repair:

• Weak cooling from low gas or a gas leak, which needs a leak test rather than a wash
• A faulty fan motor, compressor or control board
