Aircon Servicing Kuala Lumpur

Most of KL calls it aircond servicing. Whichever word you use, RM90–160 per unit covers the filters, the coil, the drainage and a cooling test, with a 30-day guarantee.

Aircon servicing in Kuala Lumpur, often called a normal service or normal aircond service, is the routine clean-and-check for your air conditioner: the filters are cleaned, the surface of the evaporator coil is cleaned, the drain pan is washed and flushed, and we test the airflow and how far the temperature drops. Done regularly, it keeps a unit that runs every day cold and free of musty smells in KL’s heat and humidity. Standard servicing is RM90–160 per unit with a 30-day service guarantee.

What aircon servicing includes

A standard service works on the indoor unit, where dust, moisture and drain sludge build up and cause weak cooling, smells and dripping. One visit covers:

  • Cleaning the filters and wiping down the indoor casing
  • Cleaning the surface of the evaporator coil
  • Removing dust from the blower area
  • Washing the drain pan and flushing the drain pipe
  • Rinsing the outdoor coil where it can be reached
  • Checking the drain path so the water does not drip
  • Checking airflow strength
  • Testing the temperature drop
  • Listening for noise and checking for smells, then reassembly and a final run

What routine servicing does not include

Servicing is a light clean. It does not take the blower fan out, does not deep-clean the coil with a chemical treatment, and cannot shift heavy mould or slime that has built up over a long time. If a musty smell, slime or weak cooling is still there after a service, the unit needs an aircon chemical wash.

Who aircon servicing is for

  • Wall-split units in condos, apartments and landed homes
  • Ceiling-cassette units in offices and shops
  • Any unit used daily in KL’s humidity that has not been cleaned for 3–6 months

How long aircon servicing takes

About 30–60 minutes per unit, in one visit. It depends on how dirty the unit is, whether it is a wall split or a ceiling cassette, and how easy it is to reach. Several units in the same home are usually done one after another on the same trip.

How often to service your aircond in KL

Units in Kuala Lumpur run in heat and humidity all year, so they gather dust and moisture quickly. As a rule of thumb:

  • Daily use (8–10 hrs/day): routine servicing every 3–4 months
  • Lighter use: every 4–6 months

Leave it much longer and you will notice a musty smell, weaker cooling and, sooner or later, dripping from a clogged drain.

Normal servicing vs chemical wash vs repair

These are three different jobs, and choosing the right one saves money.

ServiceWhat it doesBest whenPrice (per unit)
Routine servicingSurface clean of filters, coil and drain, plus a performance checkThe unit works but is due for a cleanRM90–160
Chemical washDeep clean: indoor unit partly dismantled, coil and blower soaked and flushedMould or a strong smell, or build-up heavy enough to block the coilfrom RM180
RepairFixing an actual fault: electrical, sensor, fan motor, gas leak, PCBStill not cold, leaking, noisy or tripping after a cleanfrom RM120

Which service does your symptom point to?

  • Weaker airflow, light dust, or simply overdue: routine servicing.
  • A musty or sour smell that keeps coming back, or mould you can see: chemical wash.
  • Water dripping indoors: servicing first, to flush the drain. If it continues, repair.
  • Still not cold after a clean: repair, starting with a diagnosis.
  • A strange noise, or the breaker keeps tripping: repair.

If you are unsure which one you need, send us the symptom. We confirm on site before quoting.

Aircon servicing FAQ (KL)

How much does aircon servicing cost in Kuala Lumpur?

General servicing is RM90–160 per unit. The exact price depends on the unit type (wall split or ceiling cassette) and its condition. You get the quote on WhatsApp before we start.

Is there a call-out or inspection fee?

No call-out fee if you go ahead with the service. The technician looks at the unit on site and confirms the work before quoting.

How long does aircon servicing take?

About 30–60 minutes per unit in a single visit. Several units in the same home are usually done on the same trip.

How soon can I use the aircon after servicing?

Usually straight after the final test run, once we have confirmed there is no leak.

Do I need to stay home during the service?

Be there at the start to show the unit and explain the symptoms. If access is easy, you can step away while we work, as long as we can reach you by phone.

How often should I service my aircon in KL?

Every 3–4 months if the unit runs daily in KL’s humidity, and every 4–6 months for lighter use.

What’s the difference between servicing and chemical wash?

Servicing is a routine surface clean with performance checks. A chemical wash goes deeper: the indoor unit is partly dismantled and the coil is soaked and flushed. It is for mould, a strong smell or heavy build-up.

Do I need servicing or repair?

If the unit only needs a clean, servicing is enough. If it is still not cold, leaking, noisy or tripping the breaker after cleaning, it needs a repair.

Which aircon brands do you service?

Daikin, Panasonic, Mitsubishi, Acson, Midea, LG, Samsung and other common split and cassette units.

Which areas in KL do you cover?

Kuala Lumpur and selected Selangor areas, including Mont Kiara, Bangsar, KLCC, Cheras, Ampang, Setapak, Kepong, Sri Petaling, Bukit Jalil, Desa ParkCity and Petaling Jaya.

What’s included in aircond servicing?

Filter and cover wash, indoor coil cleaning, a drain flush, an outdoor coil rinse where it can be reached, and a cooling test. If we find something servicing cannot fix, we tell you before doing anything.

Does servicing include a gas check?

We check how well the unit cools and look for signs of a leak. If the gas looks low, we explain what we found and quote the right next step, a leak check or a top-up, instead of guessing.

Does servicing lower the electricity bill?

It helps. When air moves freely over a clean coil, the compressor does not work as hard to cool the room, so a unit that was dirty usually uses less power after a service.
